Experience: Long Lake Conservation Center has been providing leadership programs for young people since 1965.
Accreditation: As an accredited program, Long Lake meets rigorous guidelines established and overseen by an external governing body, the NCA commission on school accreditation. Long Lake's facilities and safety procedures are inspected regularly.
Expertise: LLCC's Executive Director and Instruction Coordinator are both licensed teachers in the state of Minnesota. The summer program is implemented by them in conjunction with two professional naturalist-educators from Long Lake's permanent staff.

Emphasis on respect and cooperation.
New friends from a wide geographic area.
Teamwork and communication skills.

Returning Campers: If your child has attended a school-year program at Long Lake, he or she will have the opportunity to experience the new activities of a different season here. We place a high value on the opportunity to reinforce basic concepts of science and outdoor activities with young people.
Returning students/campers have the chance to experience the same natural surroundings in a different season and different circumstances. Childrens' natural curiosity and awareness of their surroundings is highlighted. In addition, children benefit from an increased comfort level at their summer camp.
