Fishing Camp
June 17-22, 2012 Ages 11-13 $400
Sessions begin Sunday afternoon and conclude Friday morning. For all youth ages 11 - 13.

"A NEW Adventure at Long Lake"

This is a new camp for Long Lake this year.  Beginning fisherman will be guided daily on fishing expeditions; fishing skills as well as self confidence in the outdoors will improve during this camp session. Campers will learn about the environment fish live in, from exploring aquatic invertebrates, evaluating lake quality to managing a fisheries. The week will culminate in an off campus fishing adventure.

Outdoor Explorers
July 15 - 20, 2012 Gr. 4-7 $425
Sessions begin Sunday afternoon and conclude Friday morning. Students must have completed Grade 4, 5, 6, or 7 to attend this camp - youth are grouped at camp by grade/age)

You'll find life-long friends and life-long memories at Long Lake. Each six-day Explorer session is filled with outdoor activities, games, and enjoying the camp community. Canoeing, archery, bog trekking, Challenge Cooperation Course, and much more are led by enthusiastic counselors and naturalists. You won't want to miss it.

Forkhorn I Camp ( 3 Sessions )
July 8 - 13, 2012 Age 11-15 $400
July 22 - 27, 2012 Age 11-15 $400
July 29 - August 3, 2012 Age 11-15 $400
Youth must NOT already have a Firearms Safety Certificate before attending this camp. Field trips included. Session begins Sunday afternoon and concludes Friday morning.

Buck in the Wid!

"Forkhorn I" camps are designed for beginning hunters and provide extensive hands-on instruction in basic firearms safety, shooting techniques in rifle, shotgun, muzzleloaders, and archery. They also provide hunting tips for both big and small game. MN Department of Natural Resources Firearm Safety Certification is part of this camp. Classes include:

  • Firearm Safety
  • Beginning Rifle, Shotgun, and Archery
  • Wildlife Management
  • Wildlife Management
  • Whitetail Deer Ecology
  • Outdoor Survival Skills
  • Map and Compass Orienteering
  • Deer Hunting Techniques

Forkhorn II ( 1 Session )                                                            
June 24 - 29, 2012   Age 12-16 $400
Youth must already have their Firearms Safety Certificate before attending this camp. Field trips included. Session begins Sunday afternoon and concludes Friday morning.

Archery with 3D Targets!

"Forkhorn II" is an advanced Forkhorn Camp for youth who are graduates of Forkhorn I Camp or have completed their Firearm Safety Training. It's a more intensive camp that takes students beyond basic whitetail deer hunting knowledge and strategies, providing them with advanced training in the areas of:

  • Bow hunting
  • Map and compass
  • Special hunting techniques
  • Marksmanship training
  • Ethical hunting practices
  • Big game ecology
  • Game preparation

Students will be certified in the Minnesota Bow Hunter Education Program as part of the camp.
