"It's fun. I love this camp!"

"They have a really cool staff here."

What happens on my first day at Long Lake?

Upon your arrival at Long Lake, you'll come to the North Star Lodge to check in. Long Lake counselors will be there to greet you.

First, tell them what your name is. Then the counselors will be able to tell you what room you'll be in. They will ask you to turn in your bug spray and any medications you may need. Be ready to decide whether you want to order a group photo from the week. Finally, you'll get to make a "wood cookie." (That's your name tag.)

After checking in, you'll take your sleeping bag and over-stuffed duffle bag to your room. Your name will be on the door. You might meet some of your roommates along the way.

Eventually, all the parents will find out all the information they need to know, and they'll leave. Then camp can start! The counselors will gather all the campers together for introductions. Introductions, games, dinner, and time in your room are all great opportunities to get to know each other. It's easy to make friends here!

Before you know it, the evening will be over, and it'll be time for lights out. By then, you'll be looking forward to Day 2!
