"Friends" Volunteer Activities at Long Lake...

Join the "Friends of Long Lake" and become a steward of environmental education for both young and old.  Help in forming the beauty around the Long Lake campus by planting flowers and sprucing up the grounds in the spring. Help prepare for winter and be a part of the planning and carrying out of projects throughout the seasons.

Some of the activities that Long Lake's "Friends" help with are:

  • Preparing flower beds and planting flowers in the Springtime on the LLCC Campus.
  • Light raking and cleaning up around the campus grounds after the snow melts away in the Springtime.
  • Assisting in manning and setting up Dinner at the Lake programs during the winter months.
  • Actively help in the planning of annual fundraisers including the Annual Golf Tournament and Banquet during the summer.
  • Represent the Long Lake Conservation Foundation at various events like the Rivers and Lakes Fair and the Aitkin County Fair.
  • Plan and assist with Family Fun Days at Long Lake for area residents and visitors to promote quality family time while learning about the environment with little or no cost to families.

The Friends are always looking for more volunteers.  If you would like to become a part of this energetic and conservation conscious group, please contact LLCC at 800-450-5522 or just come to the next Friends meeting. We would love to have you join us.
